Jarreth Merz’ return to Ghana was a personal quest to find his identity while Ghana was doing the same. As a film director, he took special interest in documenting the 2008 democratic elections, where he experienced a cry from the people for true democracy. He witnessed a mob chanting for peace and a newly-elected president, who had won the position through the electoral system, voluntarily giving up his position to the democratically-elected candidate. He compares an entire country’s search for peace and progress with his own spiritual journey. I feel like there are a few things we can learn by taking this journey for ourselves.
