I’m intrigued by the role being played by women in the U.S Election. Both the speeches given by the spouses of presidential contendors Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have played a very high profile role in their campaigns. The speeches were eagerly anticipated by both the media and delegates. They also received prominent billing at the party conventions. Michelle Obama and Ann Romney have consistently been more popular than their spouses. Why is that, when they are not running for elected office? Does this perhaps mean that people are yearning for a woman leader?
