My mom has always told me you get what you give in life. This philosophy has millions of applications in everyday life. My mom also always told me that Mayberry’s are leaders. This is an interesting concept as well almost like leading is in my blood or heritage.
I’ve always kind of thought these pieces of advice went hand and hand. Good leaders give everything they have to whatever they are doing. They give 150% and expect 150% of others to get 150% as a result. My mom never wanted me to simply give my all in everything or assert myself as a leader but she wanted me to combine them. She wanted me to become a leader by giving everything and leading by working harder.
I think this is an important leadership lesson. Instead of supervising, lead by example and work hard to become the leader.
