There is a Chinese proverb that says, ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’, for a group of four four newly bonded international journalist and destined friends, brought together by happy circumstance, the journey began with a single fork, and ended with laughs and smiles.
Our trip began with a culinary drive through the streets of Pasadena, California to the dinner table of Olivia Richard. Inspired by her French and Jamaican roots she prepared a spicy garden pasta, with a careful blend of creole and french spices.
In addition to the garden pasta, Olivia prepared rosemary roasted chicken breast (halal, of course). As the travelers began to pack their plates preparing for the next stop on their global adventure the unmistakably of savory scents of Egyptian spices wafted through the air.
Was we ate our way through the tastes of Cairo, Egypt, guided by Dalia Younis we sampled another pasta, this time seasoned with Paprika, Turmeric (Curcum), Curry, and black pepper.
As we continue our expedition further east we eventually stopped in Phanindra brought Nepali rice, vegetable curry and tomato pickles.
