I wish to thank all of the Humphrey fellows, attaches and Cronkite School faculty members over condoling the murder of my journalist colleague through a collective card and emails.
This picture shows the last moments of his as you can see the blast scene from the background. He was shot at from the top by the criminals who thought he was capturing ‘evidence’ against them with the eye of his camera.
I wrote an obituary of Ejaz, my late friend, and an editorial how ‘breaking news pressure’ culminates, in some cases, into the loss of journalists’ lives.
It is sad that journalists still have to die like this anywhere in the world, but what a dark place our world would be without people like Mr. Raisani risking their lives to bring light into what evil people do. May his blood water more seeds of democracy and peace in Pakistan.
